TEMO JAPARIDZE

PORTRAITS

Within the framework of TAF 2026, Vernissage Gallery presents the nonconformist artist Temo Japaridze (1937–2012).

In 2000, the gallery hosted the artist’s first solo exhibition, The New Voyage of Odysseus. This year, as part of the TAF 2026 programme, the exhibition Portrait by Temo Japaridze is on view at the gallery space.

‘For Temo Japaridze, art is a kind of message to society. His concept of the “silent painting” represents a humanistic vision - a creatively embodied world of personal essence:“If I can open myself through my painting to even a single person in such a way that they do not see hypocrisy in me, but instead are filled with trust and grant me their attention, I will consider the creative realization of my personality fulfilled. Through my art, I dream to give at least one person, a refuge purified of all deceit, filled with warmth and love.” - writes Temo Japaridze.’
