ABOUT US
Vernissage Gallery is among the first private galleries established in Georgia in the 1990s. In the aftermath of the collapse of the USSR at a time when institutional frameworks for contemporary art were largely absent, the gallery was founded in 1996 by its director, Zaira Berelidze.
Since its inception, the gallery has organized over one hundred exhibitions and has undergone five relocations. It is currently situated on Rustaveli Avenue, Tbilisi’s central cultural artery.
Vernissage Gallery represents a diverse group of Georgian artists working across a broad spectrum of media and practices.
Continuing to play a vital role in the development of Georgia’s art scene and market, the gallery engages with both modern and contemporary art, fostering dialogue between historical context and current artistic production.
